DJ & Producer TOM AMANING grew up in Ghana & London. After leaving the UK in 1995 for Germany, he began DJing to help spread the fresh Jungle sound to new audiences.
Performing for a couple of years around Europe helped AMANING make a name for himself with musical, oldschool/Jungle-influenced original tunes which were played by some of Germany’s big dogs including Bassface Sascha and E.decay.
In the studio, AMANING began working with producers such as Mad Vibes, The Green Man, Syncopix and also MTC Yaw, with whom he released “High Spirit” under their alias ‘I.S.S.’ In 2003, AMANING caught the attention of international DJ Flight, who invited him and The Green Man for a guestmix on her widely-acclaimed 1xtra radio show on the BBC.
Around the same time, AMANING re-connected with old acquaintances: esteemed DJs and producers Loxy and Ink. In turn, Loxy turned Clayton @ Hardware’s attention onto AMANING, who at the time, was working with 2 other German producers writing upfront Liquid as well as harder and deeper tunes under the guise ‘AJC’ .
As a result, Clayton signed AMANING´s “Sticks & Stones” and AJC´s “What u Like” for a Renegade Recordings release at the beginning of 2005.
AMANING´s versatile sound is difficult to categorize as it crosses many boundaries within the Drum + Bass spectrum. AMANING draws strong musical influences from the greats such as Roy Ayers, Miles Davis, and Quincy Jones, giving his music a certain soulful touch while maintaing a commanding dancefloor character.

AMANING has released on established labels such as Metalheadz, Renegade and Soundtrax, to name but a few. The time has now come for his debut EP, ‘On Track’, due on Crisis, a sister Label of the Horizons Music Group. Release is targeted for April ´07… watch this space! With focus also on his own label BIOS (Breakbeat Input/Output System), AMANING sees himself on a mission to hunt down qualtity D&B from established as well as up & coming artists.
